For All You Cold-Weather Persons

So. Yesterday, while you people up north were suffering in the cold, watching as the last of eight inches of snow was hitting the chilly asphalt, I was doing this.

I'll interpret, for those of you who are overcome with rage at this image. I'm on a patio at a restaurant. It's almost eighty degrees and I'm getting a bit sunburned. I have in my left hand a locally-brewed IPA and I have in front of me the last five slices of seared Ahi tuna I might slather in a wasabi-mayonnaise mix and then garnish with black beans and corn and such.

Did I mention my sunburn?

Anyone want to come visit? Make your winter reservations now. Hehe.

Jason,

Enjoy the good times now. I suspect that you will find July and August to be a bit less hospitable.

OK. I envy your 80° weather now. I will admit it. But I will bide my time until summer arrives here.

In the meantime, have an IPA and some seared Ahi for me ;-)

Wasabi!

Dave

You have confirmed my beliefs in the Christian religion, because you have GOT to be the Devil. (I'm just kidding. I'll pour a libation for Apollo and Dionysus tonight. You're just Charon... or maybe Cerberus.)

Are you begging to hear the word "bite" juxtaposed with the word "me"?

Sorry. Couldn't help myself. Consider it a creative invitation (combined with incentive) for people to come stay with us.

Dude...bask in your glory now, for I know the Oklahoma summers well. I can say that there is nothing like Oklahomy in mid to late summer. I picture you in the same seat in August, your skin peeling off in sheets due to the burning as well as the dehydration you will suffer as every ounce of liquid drains from your pours.

He he he.....enjoy my friend...

Besides, I'd MUCH rather come down when ya get a nice twister cookin'. =) Keep your camera handy!

Though Oklahoma may be hot here in the summer, it's got nothin' on Mississippi and Louisiana. :P I will never forget the humidity so thick you can almost chew the air.

And Nik, we had a tornado in NW OKC (Edmond, essentially) very early Monday morning and they're predicting more today. I think we've officially come into tornado season!

Here's my plan:

I'll make one of these schools hire me full time, and then I'll inflict myself on the visiting-writer people (I know the ones at OCCC well) and then my plan is to figure out a way that they'll allow me to attract all my friends.

Not much of a plan, I know, but it gets my friends here. I could say, hey! Diana has a book out! Ben has a book out! Tom has a book out! Jess will have a book out soon!

See how this works? I like it.
